lol if someone wants to manually edit over 2000 posts, good luck to them, thier hard work should be rewarded by success.
being able to edit would be nice, not deleting though, ive also seen people delete hundreds of posts/ threads and ruin forums :(

How could you make that work? How do you allow someone to delete a word but not several (as in all) paragraphs of a post?

i mean if you have to click edit and then delete the contents of each post that is different to being able to click a button to delete a post or all posts at once.

if someone has the patience to edit 2000 posts, good on them.

Take out delete option but leave exchange. No that wouldn't work
instruct change word to something nonsense

The one I was talking about was a low level mod, so he had extra tools at his fingertips, but it's easy to do if you have unlimited edit option on your own posts. Just go to user profile -view your posts -and then select all and delete
We don't have that option here I'm quite thank full we don't
A couple of us volunteered to go through and tidy it up best we could.
Took some doing but it still left huge threads as nonsensical garbage.
But they are battling along. The owner of the forum is a really nice guy and truly didn't deserve the grief itcuased. Any way not to worry this forum has been protected from such distasteful matters.

Air lift
I believe bull winkle and Jmbo Rollins and Velacreations. All have some sort of air lift pumping working in their systems And that's without a search of the forum.

Hey EB try a search for air lift on byap forum and see who's talking about it here.
Jimbo seems to have his running 1200 litres an hour on 5 wats of power
Beets my 900 litres on 6 wats to the same height
Still not 90% saving tho

It is now.

I'd like the edit function to be there for longer because I regularly find things in my posts that I'd like to change (mistakes, spelling, grammar, ambiguity, etc.)

OK, for those seeking figures...

Quote:
The only time we use the check valve is shallow water, that a conventional air lift will not work in.
The check valve pumps to 0 depth.
If I am using an air lift, we then put in a well....24 inches to 48 inches below the bottom of the fish tank.
Thus I get the 20 to 24 inches of fish tank depth plus the depth of the well.
With 6 foot of depth....we then pump 25 feet high.
Try your conventional pump, see if it can pump 48 inches above the level of the water. Not likely.
Try with less than 60 watts....
We do it every day. With 48 inch well, 24 inches of fish tank water, I can pump 900 gallons and hour at 24 inches and 600 gallons and hour at 48 inches. that is with a single 60 watt pump.
Never quit, never surrender, keep pumping. You are the edge of enlightenment. Money is just to buy more pipe and wine.
Aloha,

Quote:
f I have a well, I dig 48 inches deep and use a 40 watt pump that puts out 40 liters per minute, and is only 2 psi. With that I can pump 300 gallons per hours at 24 inches of lift (above the water tank surface and lose 20% volume for every foot higher that I pump So at 48 inches avobe the water tank level, I am still pumping over 200 gallons per hour. I can pump solids and I have NO MOVING PART. no check valve.

Are those good figures and is he sharing schematics or just blowing ... Water ?
I'm in a position to try it out if he will share diagram with dimensions on it.
All though sixty watts is my water pump any way so won't be doing me any savings.

P=pghQ/n

P=power (w)
p=density (kg/m3)
g=gravity constant (9.81m/s2)
h=head height (m)
Q=flow (m3/s)
n=efficiency

40=1000 x 9.81 x 0.61 x 0.000667 / n
n=0.998
n=10% efficiency.

So in other words CRAP.

can't
Really
Apply
Pressure

Yes well there are people on this forum doing more volume with less power and doing what seems go be enough to keep an IBC system working.
1200 Ltrs an hour on 5 watts

I think you guys are getting overly excited at the power savings and not focusing enough on the fact that you can have an airlift do a normal head height.....

Glen and whatsit say that their airlift is more efficient and will save oodles of power. Yes it is great that we have here an airlift that can do a high lift but what is it good for?

Remote pumping station? Yes much easier/cheaper to run an airline rather than electricity long distances.

Any other uses where it could be the best option?

Anything?

So for most people stick with a relatively efficient pond pump like a Laguna.

Yes, if it worked well then i could use it to pump to my garage roof, which is high head but only requires pretty low flow, that is a contradictory statment when it comes to conventional pumps..... unless i want to run a 500watt pressure pump....

And that is only my use, im sure 100 other people could come up with 100 other uses....

Glen and whatsit are american, they are as bad as the chinese at over stating how great thier inventions are.

A thought I had that might be a good use for it.

As a mineralisation tank.

It struck me that something like that would work very efficiently as a MN tank. You wouldn't need to worry about solids settling to the bottom and not getting processed, or aneraboic zones. Plenty of aeration, and you already use air for the MN tank, so you're not really loosing out.
