I went and checked on the fish tank temperature at 7.00am this morning and ambient temperature at Essendon Airport (7.0 km away) was -0.1°C, the fish tank at 9°C and the sump 8.7°C (no insulation).

Yesterday afternoon at 3.00pm I foliar sprayed some of the plants and it was still there this morning as ice.

:funny1: I might be able to store different foliar sprays in the freezer and just throw a handful on the plants as needed

Yeah. No coffee for me this morning as the pipes are frozen. :upset:

Oh well I'm off to bring Sarah home from the hospital so I've got an excuse for not doing the dishes and mopping the floors :twisted:

There will be plenty of that but with the combination of cold weather and crappy insulation (Houses in Canada are a lot warmer than Australia) I'll still be shoveling a lot of wood on the fire.

Funny, as a child growing up, it was always pointed out that Australians were super ecological. I assumed that insulation went hand and hand with that. I think that perception was created by the band Midnight Oil. Jr. High science teachers perpetuated it.
