Just to be fair about this putting most metals in contact with AP water is not particularly a good idea.

The assumption is that because its a closed system they will never get out and shouldn't be let in, well that's simply not true. You rely on your water supply and your feed to supply some of the so called nasties ie copper zinc etc you should hope they are in ppm. Its only when there is an excess or the wrong sort that problems occur.

If this is to do with the big C thing Stuart I would assume you would have your input water analysed and your feed analysed and I would really try to stop dripping from the greenhouse its not particularly good for the plants.

This of course is only imho. :)

Everything I do is ultimately about the big C so everyone can take it as given. :D

The reason I ask is that I recently saw a piece of AQ kit that was meant to be submerged and was made from aluminium. I've seen lots of stuff made from aluminium for use above tanks but this was the first time I'd seen a metal used other than SS under water.

If it's proper AQ kit, from a decent supplier, not a dodgy knockoff chinese supplier. I'd think it'd be safe enough.

Email the supplier?

You would be amazed at the number of so called professionals who offer products without thinking things all the way through.

Buyer beware.

Just because they tell you something is ok or will work ultimately you have to be responsible for the choices you make.
