G'day all,

Finally finished putting the plan into place and have started cycling!! Tank measures 2400*800 and holds about 3300ltr, bathtubs hold around 240 ltr each with a combined volume of around 2000ltr. I have 20 goldies in it at the moment with silver perch on the way. I would be interested to know how many fish you guys think this system would handle. planning on cladding the frame to hide the bathtubs and adding other bits and pieces to increase stocking rate down the track. :D :D :D

Nice to see bathtubs being used - I like my bath tubs too - nicely done!
You should be able to hold about 180 fish in that tank, but would need more growbed space were you to stock that high a density :)

Woorms... I just love to see the variety of ideas that AP throws up.

Looking good... it really does have that Aussie backyard feel to it.

when you clad the tub frame, maybe put some mushroom tubs underneath, cool and dark and ready access to fish water.

I like your system Worms, it looks really clean and simple! Looks like a kind of cabana feel, maybe add some tiki torches?

Great setup Worms
At 1:2 ratio with 2000l of grow beds that gives you:

1000L :2000L

Max would be 6kg per 100 L ...so go for safety at 3kg per 100 L to start with
So that gives you 30 mature fish at 1 kg weight each (fillet size) or 60 at 500 grams weight each (plate size).
Of course all your fish wont mature at he same size at the same time

Maybe rather than cladding it to hide the tubs... perhaps some wire or cheap lattice so that you could use it for supporting any climbing plants that would naturally hide the tubs..

Great job!

G'day all,

Got the fish afew days ago and their going swimmingly  75 all up but 10 went into my mini continuous flow kitchen herb setup. Can't speak highly enough about South East Queensland Fish, recieve the fish in Newcastle a day after making payment...very well packed and healthy on arrival. size varies from 4-15cm :D they worked out $1.30ea. Aeration is my main worry at the moment, thinking about a 1900l/hr aqua one pump with 4 air stones going 24/7 what do you guys think??overkill?fishkill? :?

sounds good - I have a very large volume of air being pumped into every tank 24/7... I am not sure about silvers, but Barra like high levels of DO... so, if like me it makes you feel comfortable, do it
