Every time I show the progress of your build to my wife, she smacks me in the head since ours is so ugly.

The whole system is looking fantastic!

Well I managed to build some stairs so my kids can see into the FT. They have managed to name the small comets that I have in there. I hope they don't name the trout when it comes time to get them.

So I did a water test thismorning, and this is my result. I had 3 more dead comets as well. My water temps was at 22.5.

I drilled the hole for my siphon and installed the underlay felt and then installed the pond liner.

Now I have to wait until my bulkhead cones in. The place I ordered it from told me that it is on back order for a week  Oh well it will give me a chance to work on finishing the green house.

Your ammonia levels are bordering on being toxic with your temp & PH. Probably why you lost a few comets.

I'd stop feeding until it goes down, and if you can bring down the PH a little (even from 8 - 7.8 will give the fish a far better chance). Treat the top up water with a small amount of hydrochloric acid, and top up with that.

Thanks colum, I will do that. I'm assuming that I put it into my sump rather then the FT?

Either way, it'll make it's way through the system.

I'm not sure if you've seen this yet, but it should give you a guide about what's toxic and not:

Yeah it does look familiar, from reading other threads. I had forgotten about it though. I do see now how they are related to each other. This will be good to have. It's a good thing that I started with $0.20 comets instead of going right for the trout.

I will have to add the acid in the morning.

So once the bacteria get fully established this should all settle down, is that correct?

Have you seen the chart for temp/ammonia ?? Your cycling okay but high temps and ammonia / nitrite combo is dead fish
