Look on you tube Larry halls rain gutter grow systems or rob Bob it works well no over flow pipe the holes are set at 90mm you then wrap shade cloth on the inside edge were holes are instead of roots going around in a circle the roots get air and grow more roots and grow straight down

Have taken to putting a wicking chamber in my last two attempts. One and ibc and one blue barrel. This should mean I can have a permanent air gap between the soil and reservoir and still have it wicking. Same principal as my wicking tubs that have worked so well for years
