How would you plumb the below design:

I was thinking that the Blue barrel RFF has to be as high as the highest growbed and would be better suited at the end of the design where the highest bed is.
So 40/50 mm pump out of tank to blue barrel (is the 40/50mm going to be too strong and cause too much disturbance? should I make a T and have 2x 40/50mm going into the RFF?)

Then...

90/100mm out of bluebarrel to growbeds - or should I use smaller?

Jay

If the feed from the pump is too fierce for the RFF you could pump into a section of 100mm just before the filter. That should just give you flow without the velocity.

Thanks Johny5,

I was thinking the 2x 50mm would be okay also because I don't have 100mm uniseal - but I could get one easily :)

50mm uniseal into 100mm cap and pipe into RFF

Sorry I should have said 80mm. I used a 100mm and had some settling in the bend but now I am pushing about 4,500L/H through a 80mm drain to the RFF with out such issues and it is a 6m run from the tanks to the RFF.

Had a working bee today.

The design now has Stone wall on both sides of the shape and 7 growbeds.

So many people are interested which is good and I'm the resident 'expert' :dontknow:

Electricity in and tank sand leveled.

A member of the community gardens had an old AP system already and donated his growbeds :)

That's very cool! Especially that it's a community thing. Can't wait to see it completed.

Would this work ??

Reasoning:
1) Pump out of fish tank (less disturbance on fish
2) Fish tank can't run dry if leak
3) Head height reduced
