Both had a fair bit of fat, did not weigh them after they were cleaned. The rest will not starve if I do not feed them for a few weeks thats for sure. Cheers

Ha ha, yea mine generally held a good amount of fat. Can't be a bad thing for the cold season.

No Pics yet Bear but I'll get some up in a few days. I forgot that I still have to extend the electric for the pump and figure the outflow from the MBBR as well  but it does feel close to being done. I did figure out a bottom drain with ball valve setup that I'll use for the trickling filter (provided it doesn't leak). My sump is a partial IBC underneath the RFF and MBBR so if I want to set the depth I'll have to do it another way.

Charlies right about the recipes, they both sound great :thumbright:

Cheers

Fish look good Bear. Had one dead one the other morning, water has got down to 12c So decided to transfer all the fish from outside tanks to the large one in the shed. With no heating water is 14c, but as you know this is my old Barra setup. So all heating is in place and will get the temp up to about 18c. One did not like the transfer and was upside down, then when tried to catch he was alive and swimming around. So managed to catch him again and will be tea tonight. Ginger rubbed in the cuts Lemongrass and Kafir Lime leaves inside. Lemon squeezed on top when cooked. I think about 1.5Kg

Wow. That is one big fish. If the others are like that don't put any body parts in the tank at feeding time, you might lose a limb. :D

YES Charlie, That was a small one. Only big enough to cover the egg slice.

Cooked 220C for 35 mins. However I think needed another 5 or even 10 mins. Was it nice........??????

About 0c here at the moment, both systems on 11c. Have shut the main system down and just running on air until the next timer cuts in at 6 am. Hope it does not fall any lower in the tanks as 11 c was the coldest the fish tank went to last year.

Will certainly test the Jades out.

Is it just me, or is that a huuuge spatula? I did a double take - 3" fish, or 12" spatula?

When I looked at it again it really messed with my sense of perspective, literally and figuratively! :D

Having looked at it again I think chainsaw is totally fooling us - he is eating tiny fish off tiny plates with tiny knives and forks... buuuuuuuuut the spatula gave you away young man! Bust!
You were the agent of your own downfall, you forgot about the spatula didn't you?!?!?

What do you think Watson?

Pizza spatula and chainsaw continue this on his thread.

Checked the tanks this morning at 6:40 am and both systems on 9c. No floaters then and will recheck soon. This is the coldest the systems have been in the 19 months since I started with the fish.

Hope they all pull through CCBear.

...I wonder how many hot water bottles you'd need to drop in to make a difference...
