Fair enough Korahs, when stuff happens like this it can make a huge impact on your circumstance.

The legislation changes in Oregon must be causing massive turmoil in the State.

Hope you're able to get this resolved Korahs without everyone being at each others throats. Nothing against anyone who uses this for whatever reason but it is one of the harder habits to ignore if you live next door, very distinctive and to some unpleasant aroma. Tobacco falls into the same category. Worse for those with allergies or sensitivities though.

I don't care for the drug myself. I've seen evidence that whatever beneficial properties it may have the harmful effects are all too real. Opiates are well excepted for medicinal use so I don't know why hemp should be any different.

On the other hand hemp is an excellent fiber crop and it should be grown commercially not for any drug use but for making rope, canvas, cloth, concrete reinforcement and a host of other products.

Removing the legal drug issue will go a long way to restoring hemp as one of the preeminent fiber crops. Then we could stop growing cotton and spraying vast amounts of chemicals around the place.

Just read this and had to comment. I've very allergic to Marijuana as well. Being around the plant(Ive found even up to just about 200ft away) I'll get super watery eyes and hit a sneezing fit. I think my record still stands at 32 sneezes. coming into direct contact with it is worse, I'll start to break out in hives and eventually need some anti-histamine lotion. Being in an enclosed space where it is being smoked(Arent I the life of the party?) Could kill me. my throat will swell up and I cant breathe, Its kinda like people with peanut allergies....Funny thing is that Not all Hemp makes me that way. I asked the Dr. and he ran tests Turns out I'm allergic to THC(tetrahydracannibinal) It just so happens that its the chemical in marijuana that gives you the High. so I can see how the allergic part of her rant is true. As far as the rest of it....Well honestly I dont care much for potheads so I may react similarly if I was placed in her situation.

On re-reading this thread I noticed the question about where would they grow marijuana in Oregon. Used to be a lot was grown on National Forest or Bureau of Land Management property. Now that it's being legalized that will hopefully change. This talks about booby traps in illegal pot growing operations.

Bottom line... if it's illegal/unpermitted, then officials will do something...

The US seems to be such a crazy place... the land of the free, and a Government prepared to crush all..
