Hurk, that's disgusting. I'll never understand why people don't just clean up mess like that, why would you not do it? Why would you choose to work along side dead mice and piles of mouse dirt? Just clean it up! It's not that hard, ugh.

Can see why people have such mixed results with the live fish they buy from there if that is the standard they keep in in the food preparation areas.

We've got a serial offender here in Melbourne, a guy who hosted some well-know international celebrities such as Sir Elton John, Sir Mick Jagger, the Beach Boys, Cher, the tennis-playing Williams sisters, Ian botham and his cricketing mates.

I've seen some shockers in my days in the kitchen. When I was an apprentice, I went from a place that made me sweep/throw buckets of water/squeegie/mop/then dry mop the floor every day. Massive overkill in my opinion. To a place where they just wanted me to get the hose out and hose all the crud on the flood down the drain.

The latter had a massive cockroach problem. You'd never see anything when the lights where on, but the moment the lights were turned off, the floor swarmed with them. I managed to get it better over time.

It's usually a mixture of lazy chefs/stupid bosses. The boss doesn't want to pay for people to spend hours cleaning, the chefs spent years as an apprentice doing the crap cleaning jobs constantly, and as a qualified chef, they finish cooking and go to have a beer, letting the under trained apprentices/kitchenhands finish the cleaning.

I think it's a mixture of the unstable people being attracted by cheffing, and the high stress job beating people down, but there are a lot of substance abusers, people who make Gordon Ramsay look like a kitten, and people who just can't handle it. Get the wrong mixture of chefs/owners, and this sort of thing happens.

They seem to be giving everything a bit of a go.. A while back they started to sell lots of fruit and veggies from within the fish shop.

There was always a handful of cabins/dongas there, but last time I drove past they had dozens of campervans and caravans set up there, like it was turning into a bit of a caravan park.

Oh yeah... Just checked their website, I know they had been doing some building down there, but now they have "Our accommodation includes 17 x 2 bedroom brick cottages, 10 self-contained chalets and 8 semi self contained units. We also have a bus parking bay, which can easily accommodate up to 11 holiday vans."

And

"Rv Park / Caravan Park

Situated next to one of our many ponds we have powered and unpowered sites suitable for all sized holiday homes. With Laundry, Kitchen & Ablution Facilites close by on site. Stay for the night or for a week. We offer all accommodation weekly discounted rates."
