Tbis thread will be the one i will use for here on out. Apologies for not using the same one until now! This is our new 520 gallon cement tank which will house both crawfish and tilapia. I was told it takes 4-6 weeks to cure and then i will apply the white dura coat rubberize it. There will be 3 layers where we wait 24 hours for each coat to dry. Also this is a link to a video explaining our new tank.

See this is something I would want when I find a new house. The barrels are effective in all but I really want to beautify my system in my new place which is no where near but still down the road.

Looks great. I like the shade structure as well. Part of the reason I always liked old greenhouses was the way they cast shadows - similar sort of feel here.

I have been using the API fresh water testing kits to collect measurements but wanted something more accurate and less time consuming. Does anyone recommend a specific pH pen or something similar?

This is a language thing I'm sure...

The thread title suggests that it is about a system that used to be an AP system.

I thought the same as Stuart. The mods can change it if you wanted.

Nice tank. Is it solid concrete? Or did you use cinder blocks and line it?

And just for future reference, if you turn your camera phone on the side, you'll get better videos.

judging by the look colum it looks like cinders. You almost see a dark tone every other little bit.

I am currently having issue with ants crawling up the fish tanks and PVC pipes onto our crops. We tried using petroleum jelly to stop the ants and aphids but that hasn't seemed to work. Does anyone recommend any type of ant barrier (possibly liquid) to stop the ants?

Boric acid should work well.

Any sort of oil should work. Put the legs of the beds in a little tub of oil. Same with the pipes.

Or just get some ant poison, I don't know what sort you use there, and either use the sort they walk over and die, or the sort that they drink, go back to the nest and kill off the rest of the hive there. It'll take a few treatments of it, but it'll work.
