Little bit of growth coming along after I tried to kill everything a week ago with a Kryptonite dose of iron......don't ask. I'm pretty happy with what everything is doing. The cattle panel trellis itself is 50" tall and it starts 12" above the top of the growbeds, so 62" all together to the very top.

The cucumbers where planted on April 30 and I have a couple of almost pickers that's about 8" long now. MarketMore variety. They were about 4" tall and just did have the first set of leaves on when I planted them. Tons of blooms everywhere.

First pic is 2 days ago, next pic is a little less than 4 weeks ago. My how these things change......

3 days ago I added 6 more Tomato plants, 5 eggplants, 6 banana peppers, 2 lemon balm, and 1 rosemary plants to soak up some of these continued high Nitrates. They're coming down now.

Cucumbers are best picked early. Especially if you are going to pickle them. The seeds are smaller, and they are more tender.

Summer Jealousy here :)

You might want to prune (or not) the middle and bottom of the tomatoes to allow some air flow. I had some tomatoes this year in the greenhouse that went rampant.

My potted tomato plant outside went a bit nuts. Slid down the stake and now tangled on itself on the lower branches. Overall a really beat up plant, but still has plenty of green tomatoes on it right now. Went from AP to soil and really hurt the plant.

Ate my first 2 cucumbers off the AP system day before yesterday. First ever fruits of my labor. Gotta say, they were the best cucumbers I've ever eaten, exploding with flavor, tender, perfect. They are the "Marketmore" variety. Gonna pick 4 more this afternoon. Can't believe they're already putting out this soon.

This AP must work....... ;)

Good on you, Wes. Well done!

I agree about the extra flavour of AP grown produce. My silverbeeet has so much flavour it blows me away.

Love your system, thanks for posting.
Nitrates have to get really, really high before they are a problem.

2 month anniversary today from Day 1 of cycling!

Plant explosion. Pics below taken on 6.12.14. I guess me trying to kill it a couple weeks ago made it stronger. The saying is correct I guess........or else I got REALLY lucky this time. :)

I have to ask - how big of a dose of iron was the mess-up? What type of iron? Did you see indicators there was a problem? Did you do anything to remedy it?

PS: The plants do seem green. Hurrah for "opportunistic overconsumption" by plants
