Hi Nasrin,

Glad everything is going well. I've always wanted to grow a papaya but it's too cold here :dontknow:

I'm not sure about the mealy bugs but I would try the chili garlic spray it might work. The only time I've ever had to deal with Mealy bugs was not in an AP setup and we used a horticultural oil spray which wouldn't be appropriate for AP (It also isn't so good if you breathe it). Basically oil smothers them and they can't breathe. Mealy bugs can sometimes get down in the soil (or in our case rocks) so if your first attempt with the chili garlic spray gets rid of most but they come back, that may be why. Might have to pull the plants and spray or perhaps flooding the bed might work.

Hope this helps

This is my GB
Papaya and okra plants have grown huge.
Waiting for the flowers to grow.
Oregano on one side is also doing well, onion is hiding below papaya.
Still some place left to put in other plants
What should I put in now?

Hi Nasrin,

Probably should try planting something that can take some shade judging by those trees. If you like greens they would be a good choice or maybe something that grows fast and will be taken out before the papaya gets much larger. Normally I'd put something like lettuce there but I think your temps will be too high to get the seeds started. Maybe Kale, Chard (what the Aussies call silverbeet?), Bok choi or some type of Radish. Regular beets might work as well but maybe only for the tops. I'm not certain these will work for you and of course you have to actually like eating them :)

Cheers
