Today i noticed air stones were partially working. Because I am trying to save money and want the air stones to last I didn't want to swap it out for a new one if i didn't have too. Instead I cut about 3 inches off the end of the tube to shorten the distance the oxygen has to travel. By doing this the air stones went right back into full operation.

I soak them in vinegar and them blow them out with air hose. Works like a charm.

I soak them in muriatic acid, and then blow them out after a quick fresh water rinse.

If vinegar alone doesn't suffice, add some peroxide.
