I'm a sales coach for a large financial institution that shall remain nameless. Been with them for close to 20 years and have held most retail position up through district manager running 17 locations. That's for work.

Self taught machinist.
Self taught shade tree mechanic
Self taught carpenter (I suck at it).

Do a lot of fishing, mostly for catfish, but also trout, bass, perch, and after last night, sturgeon.

Edited to add: I am blessed because my work takes me to Alaska 6-8 times per year for some good fishing and seafood in a gorgeous environment.

Cool...

That means I can add "Flat Head" fisherman to my skill set because I caught one by accident a few weeks ago

What's a tree mechanic do

Homemaker, cook, dr and teacher to 4 children, 1 dog, 1 pet rat, and lots of fish.

Shade tree mechanic is a term for a person who works on their own cars when it's not their normal occupation and/or training.

Think they call them bush mechanics over here Charlie; not quite as flash as a tree mechanic but a lot more amusing.

No flash here. Actually called shadetree mechanic because you are doing it in your driveway. Usually, under the vehicle in question trying to lift a transmission, transfer car, starter, etc into place with one hand so you can get a bolt or two started with the other.

I prefer the term bush mechanic. It is nice and double entendre'y.

Shade tree mechanic is literally where we worked on our cars when I was in school

Served in the Infantry for 10 years and now I run a custom sewing business. Mostly cater to military customers, as prototyping and small runs of Tactical Nylon is my niche. However, I have done everything from upholstery, to shade cloths and awnings, to tarps, restraints, harnesses, drapes, and so on.

Aside from AP and gardening, I am an avid Shooter, Skydiver, Surfer, and Home Brewer. I consider myself a mechanic of both sewing machines and Off-road vehicles. Have built two trail rigs; a 1986 Suzuki Samurai [Jimny] and a 1992 Toyota Pickup [HiLux].

Home renovation and construction I have been doing fom a long time... to my own homes. Particularly good at framing, decking, drywall, and tiling.

Daytime-Kat is all about Corporate Governance and Compliance, and Company Secretarial skills.
So although not exactly AP-related, I can possibly offer some 'general advice' to those setting up their own businesses, on how to not get yourself in trouble with ASIC etc. and reporting obligations.

In my own time I'm a foster carer for S.A.F.E. and currently have two foster dogs that came down from one of the camps in Broome in an absolutely shocking state. They had barely any fur due to awful Mange, were extremely skinny and scared, and covered in ticks - just as a start!

They are coming along swimmingly already in just the few weeks that I've had them. Hopefully they will find a loving family to go to soon. My own rescue puppy is hanging out with his grandparents so as not to catch any nasties at this stage.

I'm also Mum to a human 6 yo, who keeps me on my toes. This is an old pic of my babies. They are both much bigger now!


I love cooking, and can't wait to have some AP produce to experiment with. Being able to replicate recipes

Also interested in chooks, namely Pekin Bantams and Bantam Araucanas (the blue egg layers!) so some multi-coloured hen fruit will hopefully be a part of my bounty soon too once I have a new hen-house for them.
