ok so my system is finnally operational, its been going for two weeks now the first week no problems but the last week ive had to stop feeding my trout due to high ammonia and now a reading of nitrites.
i think i just need my vegies to get growing more so there using more nutrients,

ive been helped along by rod a bit which helps so thanks mate,,

im going to put up some pics of it al done so far

this is the pulley design ive made

Image
and with it rolled up

Image
pipes go 12 meters under the house on stilts to grow beds then returns to tank

Image
then i used non treated ply around the sides to fill the gapes and provide me with storage

Topping up with rain water helped my pH come down pretty quickly.

I feel for you!

I'm trying to convince my wife to let me add some beds to the front yard. Not going well so far. "You've got all the backyard already, leave the front yard alone!"

I'll wittle her down.
