Hi everyone! I'm a freaking NOOB at all this. The only back round i have that may be of any benefit is years of keeping tropical freshwater fish(I know he importance of balnceing the system) and over a decade of contractor work ranging from landscaping to masonry and construction. That being said i still have no idea WTF i'm doing. Either way i am excited t oget things rolling. I look forward to all the usefull info i will get from this forum and hopefully giving back to the forum from my own experiences.

Welcome jmf.
Oh man I wish I had decent landscaping and construction skills. I'll have a crack at pretty much anything but my efforts usually look amateurish (or in my wife's description, "half-arse"). People with proper skills often build really impressive tidy systems.
So I'll look forward to seeing you system come together mate. Remember, we love pics!

I was in your shoes not much more than a year ago. I used what scraps of materials I had laying around and tried to make things work. It was a clogged mess that was not maintenance friendly but it worked. I listened to what people told me here and it improved beyond my expectations. Put up pics of your planned system location and what materials you have to work with and it will happen.
