I've been running a small barrel-based system since last fall (check the link in my signature). It's been keeping us in salad all winter. I'm planning a larger system this year with removable polycarbonate panels to convert to a greenhouse when temperatures drop in the fall. Lots of ideas, but we'll see what I have time and cash to get done.

We're in Canton, Ga. We have about 1000 square feet of grow beds going and a 3800 gallon tank

I am new to this.
Just about finished digging my pond.

Mine will be more of a traditional fish pond. Yes I know the predators
will have some fun.

Still trying to figure out the type pump I want to use.

Wish I could visit some one with a system in operation.

Good info I have read here so far.

I'm in Douglasville but I don't have my system built yet. I've been planning the fish tank building and attached greenhouse but haven't pulled the trigger yet. For one, it's too dang hot and I don't like to sweat. :)

I plan on selling my produce at the farmer's market that my wife attends every Saturday in Dallas GA next Spring. We will see though. If I cannot get my system up by early Spring then I will still be soil gardening....ugh

If I get my system up and running this winter then you are more than welcome to come out to see it. I'll be blogging it on my website at http://thehomevegetablegardener.wordpress.com.

We are right outside of Carrollton and are currently assembling our system. Going to be a 250 gal fish tank with 4 grow beds out of IBC totes. Should be ready for the early growing season.

Hopefully we weren't too ambitious for our first set-up!

I'm right outside of Statesboro, 40 miles west of Savannah. I'm currently building the same system as quoted above. CHIFT PIST. Got everything cut and fittings on the way. Eager to get started to see how little real-world applications I actually know about AP from reading about 100 hours of online stuff.

I'm In Valdosta. And I'm a new to this too

I've been a lurker for a while, but finally decided to register an account. My system is an indoor 30~ish gallon flood and drain (gravel bed with auto-siphon).

Glad to see other Georgians on here!

The Aquaponics system has made some major progress since I last wrote about it. The growbeds have been positioned, the bell siphons build & installed, and the gravel washed. We found that the Quikrete All Purpose Gravel (50lb bags) that can be purchased at the Big Orange (you know the one) big box store doesn’t react to the vinegar test so hopefully no issues with PH buffering. We tested the gravel by pouring some vinegar on the gravel and had zero bubbles. That is a good sign so hopefully we will be PH neutral.

I saw someone else was from my neck of the woods. joshturner, did you get your system up and running yet?

Just thought I'd mention I'm in Georgia as well. Just west of Brunswick, 30 minutes from the coast.

Recently started up with a small system, but currently working on an expansion. Taking it slow, as time and finances allow.

Here's just a quick pic of current setup.

File comment: Current setup. 50 Tilapia and a few goldfish.
