Here is a new system I built a few days ago. It has a 3ft Fish Tank concealed, 16 plant NFT pipes, plus a small flood and drain media GB.
The pump is a 2500L/PH at a height of 1.8meters.
I have added about 100ml of Seasol + 100ml of Worm Tea.
It's only been cycling for 24hrs.

When should I add fish? And how many 7cm Silver Perch Fingerlings should I add?

The pump was obviously added after the picture was taken. Plus I've added about 8 seedlings in the NFT.

Further Question:

I've put the down pipe valve on the wrong side at the bottom of the PVC pipes, will the last 3 whole after that be a dead zone??

Is it too late to spin the bottom section of pipe around?

Also, are they jolokias in your avatar?

Hi mate, nah it's not too late, if it turns out to be dead zones then I'll put the valve on the other end.

Yes, They are Jolokias! My fav chilli.

I'm planting 80 plants in September this year to make a Jolokia Sauce as a small business.

I currently have 7 Trinidad Moruga plants and just added a Carolina Reaper (New Worlds Hottest) into my other AP System.

I won't be growing the Jolokias in the AP System though.

A couple of points Mathew, your fish stocking level depends on your GB media volume (biological filter capacity).
Based on that you may not be able sustain much more than one fish to plate size without adding more GB volume or external filtration.

The NFT pipe wont help much at all as far as filtering and the processing of waste's goes.

On the NFT pipe you could put a small tap on the lowest point of the pipe opposite your outlet, your sure to get some build up of poo in the lower end there (experience) that will help to remove a small amount at least.

Thanks for the info mate.

Sounds like I should add a bio filter then, actually I was thinking about adding some Vertical Towers on each side with outlets going into the GB. I'd like to have at least 3-5 fish in the FT

Cheers again!

Is the tap glued? If not you could plug it up and then put the tap at the end.

You can cycle your system with or without fish.

I cycled mine without fish using charlie carp.
