Pyramid is nice, geodesic dome or sphere may be better.

Not too sure about the high voltage experiment with AP, if ozone gets into the growbed you may have to cycle it again.

No one has mentioned the flashing/intermittant light experiments that alledgedly improve yields by upto 400% ..that could be an interesting one

A crack-pot section might be fun.

Oh, and also, why would quantum ag, speaking on soil health, be "qualified" to make an edict on AP?

The feild day was actually based on sustainable farm forestry and orchards with guest speakers from America including Gary Zimmer who specialises in biological agriculture, and high production organic farming. Hugh Lovel from Quantum Agriculture who takes thing a bit further on a molecular and energy flow level (mabye something of interest for you crack pots :D ). Greame Sait, the founder of Nuti-tech Solutions who specialise in soil fertility, plant nutrition, human nutrition and the links between soil biology and productivity.
These guys were effectively talking about the importance of the whole of system health of pants at a biological level, and ensuring that the soil (or grow media) is working efficiently at converting available nutrients and minerals into the best quality produce. Something we are all hoping to do with AP.

On track:
Here in Alberta in relation to the Crop Diversification Center in Brooks (Raft aquaponics), the bacterial composition and its nature are being investigated quite extensively to try to discover what is really going on. It may well lead to some answers to the questions and theories being brought up here.

Off track:
Opinion: Joe cell....waste of time. I have a friend here that wasted 15 years working around this thing, with the infamous "Joe". He left Australia to get away from it after realizing he was chasing a stick that wasn't moving at all.

Keep the chainsaw running Les! ;)
(I like to cross-post sometimes....maybe we need a diesel powered chainsaw..run it on BSF oil ;) )

I didn't get very far into my pyramids research before I got "spooked." I read the patent about self-sharpening razor blades in a pyramid. And I rememember reading about how anything above the point of a pyramid is revitalized and "awakened" -- some lady took great delight in setting miniature pyramids under her chairs and couch and then inviting straight-laced guests.... perhaps pyramids could somehow be used to induce fish to spawn???

Further to the discussion:

Quote:
Tomatoes may have also assimilated nitrogen in organic amino acid forms. In 1950 Gosh and Burris (Utilization of nitrogenous compounds by plants. Soil Science. Vol. 70: 187-203) found that tomatoes utilize alanine, glutamic acid, histidine, and leucine as effectively as inorganic nitrogen sources.

The ability for the bacteria to convert the nitrate to organic amino acid would be reduced if the root zone and bacteria were exposed to excessive quantities of nitrates, dont you think ?

Why? :?

actually, brain wave...................if nitrates DID inhibit the uptake of other nitrogen compunds, then might be becasue the plants prefer nitrate as a nitrogen source? i mean nitrosomonas and nitrobacter are both present in the soil.............

In case anyone is interested, "liquid gold" contains ammonia -- or at least my API test kit detected ammonia in 5 drops of urine dilluted with 5 ml of water. Off the scale.
