Hi All,

Well, after a good deal of planning, heaving and sweating during Perth's finest summer weather, I have finally finished the dual IBC design I posted back in FEB.

Hey Rocketrod,

Put 10 SP and 10 Trout from Troutman in a couple weeks ago. Only 1 mystery SP death so far, trout have grown already and they seem to be behaving themselves... Trout are super cool though :thumbright:

OK here is a vid:

I've been testing the water regularly with my master test kit and ammonia nitrites etc come back as nominal or non-existent. There seems to be a bit of yellowing on some of the leaves, possibly from when I salted previously to around 1ppt?

Tristan, I really like the system you have set up and would be the right size for when we move into our (as yet to be built) home. Could you post some photos, or direct me to other threads if you have posted them in the past, of how you have located and set up your sump tank in the system please.
Cheers,

definately flashing, rubbing their sides on bottom of tank. Usually means they have some parasite on them that is annoying them. would take them out and have a closer look at their skin.

Hi gmturner, yes I think there was some definite Ich in the tank as there where visible white spots on the fish when they were underwater. If you take the fish out of the tank, I found the white spots tended to not be as visible. I reckon if people are trying to diagnose Ich might be a good idea to look at the fish carefully underwater.

I put 2kgs of salt into the system, I have seen a vast reduction in the flashing, though I reckon this could be to do with the colder weather kicking in as I think Ich really slows down in the cold weather.

GMan, I'm going to post some more pics of how I did the tank build in a sec....
