Hey guys. New to the forum.

I have a large tank aprox 6m diameter and it's round and about an average of 700mm deep.

I am not sure what fish to use. I was thinking barra but will they survive the low temps? We get ice sheets over our water troffs in winter.

Murray cod would be the best IMO but I'm unsure on availability and legality.

Rainbow trout? Same as above.

This is just for a fish farm.

Any help? Thanks guys :)

Silver perch or trout. Barra are summer only in Perth. What filtration do you have planned?

I have a pool pump with a sand filter mate. I'll put some plants in as well. I had silvers in there before and they are very slow growing. They probably got to 25cm. I suppose you harvest them at a small size. Trout sound the go for winter. What are there growing rates and any places I could get some fingerlings?

I think a sand filter will block up pretty quick and go stinky you'll need a bio filter.

ditto above silver perch year round, trout in winter, barra in summer though the growing season is short to grow them out so you have to buy advanced fish to make it worthwhile or heat the tank.
