How's this for a whopping Silver Perch.
550mm long and pulled the scales down to 5kg, came out of one of my customers farm dams.

Wowzas! Is it bloated due to roe, food or being left in the sun?

I asked him if it had eggs in it and he said it didnt. Pretty sure it wasnt left in the sun as he eats them so must just be full of food.

That's a HUUUGE Silver.

My biggest so far is 52cm and weighed 2.7kg. This was from a Private Dam that also has some nice Murray Cod, Callop and Catfish. It's a very healthy dam that has plenty of food, gudgeon, yabbies, shrimp, and mosquito fish.

A 5kg one would have pulled like a freight train.

Thats one piggy silver. Looking at the little jade perch in my aquarium, i can see how it would happen. I have two jades out of 13 that after one week are fat after each feed, and the rest are smaller by far and some havent grown much at all. This in one week

Been getting pressure from the lads to pull one of my first Silvers out on the weekend. Purchased from Troutman Sept 2011. Won't be any where near 5kg. Will report back on Monday - with a pic!
