Hi All,

I thought I'd start a thread to follow our progress as we build our first BYAP system. We're still nailing down the last few points of our design, so there might be a bit of a delay before we update with some more images.

To kick things off, here's the area we'll be using for our system. It's length runs roughly North-South, the image is taken from the North side, looking South. The dimensions are approx 12m x 3.5m.

The plan is to clear & level the entire area, then it will be covered with tightly packed gravel to form a fairly solid surface. Before we can lay the gravel, we'll be 3/4 burying our IBC Sump Tank, and running some of our pipe underground.

Progress Images & Updates will follow. Thanks for coming along for the ride.

Use the wall as heat emitting source during winter - also the vertical space either horizontal NFT or vertical.
East west ?
Which way gets morning sun? house or fence?
Judging from your shadows I would say you're looking south.

Planning to run vertical grow towers along 1 side of the GBs later on. For more info on the design & layout, you can check out my post, here: viewtopic.php?f=1&t=21643

Morning sun will hit the fence, afternoon sun on the wall. Because we want access on both sides of the GBs, the system will be set in the middle of the area, unfortunately. Hopefully having it in the middle will maximise the amount of sun it gets throughout the day though.
