I've been busy beautifying my grow beds as my wife puts it. However I call it algae blocker. I have it wrapped around GB 1-2 and put one piece of cap on to see what it would look like.

So I'm having troubles getting the temp in the greenhouse down. It's not even summer yet. So I decided I needed a huge roof vent. I took a 45"x22" metal box I had laying around and cut the top 5" off with the door. Framed it in on the inside and welded up some brackets for the hood arm support thingy of acquired from a junk truck at work. It won't pop up like I would have liked but a little nudge with a stick and it will pop open and hold open. More soon

Used a rope and pulley to retract it to the closed position. ImageImageImage

Why is it that I have three FT and only one of them has green murky water in it? All three tanks were cleaned out the same. This one and my other big one both had peroxide in them. Any ideas or ways to clear it up without harming plants or animals?

Also a pic of GB 1-2 completed until maintenance. Image

I have herd about using barley straw extract or the straw itself for algae control. Unless you are green for some other raisin than algae. I have had ponds before, but usually left the water alone because the gold fish could still be seen. The plecos you could not see to tell if they where still alive or dead until you drained and shut down the pond at the end of the year.

I noticed today the water seems to be clearing slowly on its own. Going to make a sun screen for this tank as it gets full sun on 1/4 at the fish opening about half the day. Both other tanks are much more shaded.

Bump.

I know it's been discussed elsewhere. However I'm in the US and was wondering if I can get seasol and other products here to combat my poor wilting plants. Systems are cycled. All plants took off at first even with high early nitrates but them quickly slowed and yellowed. Pointers? Oh and something other than metric amounts please.
