 Post subject: Build up on grow bed?

I have had my system running for about a week and a half now. In about five days there is a white build up on my grow bed surface... thinking it is just a calcium build up? I have expanded clay (hydroton) for my grow bed media. Is this common or something to worry about?

It is common with new hydroton and is just salts crystallising on the surface

Ok. Thats good news, i figured just salt or calcium. It has already gone down alot. I was also wrong, I have only had it running for a week! Thanks for the advice
