We are at 16ft (10.6 kcfs) now and the dotted line is projected flow. I don't get nervous until it approaches 20ft which rarely happens.

So you expect said floods regularly, I think I remember that from earlier posts.

Yes...the house and everything is designed for 2 ft above 100 year flood. The graph predicted 19 ft peak and more rain on the way yesterday. Most of it went South and I feel much better today. Luckily it is fairly predictable unlike the urban flash floods we had from undersized storm drains yesterday.

Undersized storm drains. San Diego in a nutshell.

Still trying to find a balance between winter and summer crops. When the water temp hit 65 everything started taking off but not enough growth to pull them and replace with summer veggies. I am thinking about adding a water heater to bump water temp from 50's to 60's. It seems to make a big difference producing foilage and would get better results for the cooler month's. Just a little boost.

I think that is a type of assassin bug. There are many different types but they should be harmless to your plants. They are a predatory insect that will control the leaf eaters. Some of the ones we have near me carry Chagas disease which is not cool. That does not look like one of those however. :)

Are you human?: maybe who's asking

gotta say you were lucky with only 12-15in of ice we had almost 2ft on some lakes with a 2ft snow cover most of the winter. still had some real good days out

zebra and quagga mussels suck balls. they have invaded all the great lakes and are in most all of the big lakes here. caused a serious crash of the yellow perch and alewife populations , the latter also caused the salmon to crash since they feed primarily on alewife. the perch however have started rebounding and are being caught with zebra mussel shells in their bellies.

nice looking buck btw. I didn't see anything this yr . we had a massive die-off from a parasite 2 yrs ago and I have only seen about 5 deer in my yard since(normally see this every nite in fall and winter as they eat my acorns and leftover apples)

what do you feed the bg? do they try to spawn when it warms?

That's what I thought at first but assassins typically have a narrow rotating head for piercing. I think it's a aphid parasitoid but I can't find pics that match.

The pond I fished yesterday had dead bass floating around from winter kill. One was pushing 6 lbs. The perch fishing on the 2 reservoirs I fish have seemed to improve also. It used to be nothing but nuisance 5 in perch and now they seem to be 7 to 10.

We were lucky and EHD/Bluetongue wasn't bad in the area I hunt. Other parts of the state were hit bad. I ate one of my doe tags just in case to help the herd.

I have been feeding the BG Sportsman Choice high protein from Tractor Supply. They do eat it but not aggressively as they should IMO. It has small and large chunks which I have to crush. I will probably get Aquamax when I run out. I feed them lots of worms since the ground is stuffed with them around here. Haven't had any spawn yet.

Best I've done in dirt or AP with lettuce. Cool weather and lower PH seems to do the trick.
