They love march flies...Stu don't know about the pupa they went to the beach for a swim, I use to throw them out a long way to see if they could make it back before a fish found them on a hook.

Thanks DB. I too am pretty short on the practical side of things. I've kept aquarium fish form time to time but the last thing I kept in my tank before I killed that last lot of yabbies were scorpions.

I think that a feeder something (fish, crustacae, ?) would be better if it was fed something completely different from the other things we are feeding our fish. Would lead to a more balanced diet. If we had any extra BSF we could swap them for something else or feed them to something else (chooks?).

Another sad note from me is that I have discovered that fish can jump   Left a barrel too full and I now have dried fish. Normally I like dried fish but generally its been salted and smoked rather than just lying on the ground in the sun :(

Stuart

PS whats muzzas record for fish killing?

Sorry about your fish Stuart. That 'jump to death' thing has happened to a lot of forum members.

I should be OK there. My six foot deep tank will start with 30" of water...let's see them make that jump! On the other hand, I will not reach tham all that easy either. Long net handle, I guess.

On the topic of a varied diet for our fish.

For all those who are thinking of getting some Tandanus catfish you may need to tkae up poultry as well.

Talking to a guy a day or to ago and he said he has got fish that will take ducklings off the water

How would you bait a live duckling?

Well Stuart, if you stick a duracell up its date, it will circulate for hours attracting fish, without needing to stop for a break. Problem is you might electrocute the pond, in which case you don't need the duck, just a big net.

I think I have probably killed as many fish as Less. I am up over 150. But only one species.

Problem is, I still don't feel qualified to give practical advice. :)

DT, I have 500 fish arriving in a couple of weeks. I should be able to top your number soon. And there are three kinds, so I should hold both titles of most and most kinds.

Of course, if I fail to take the titles, I can live with that too.
