Are you human?: Yup
Location: Perth hills.
I've held off feeding fish for close to a month over summer and when I harvested there were still plenty of fat reserves in the gut. No it won't hurt the fish as much as nitrite poisoning will.

Hi guys fifth test ph08.0
Ammonia 0.25
Nitrite 5.0. Maybe a smidge lighter
Nitrate 10
I've noticed that the nitrate has been fluctuating up and down, and pH a bit.my plants a growing OK, a little tinge of yellow, and the water looks crystal clear,no waste in tank at all.
PS when you say fish can go long time with out food, does that apply to any size fish.

They are cold blooded, so they don't need to feed nearly as much as us.

Depends what you plan on treating with? If it's white cabbage moth eggs treat with dipel once the caterpillars hatch. Any treatment has to be organic or you could harm the fish

Dipel is fine and will have no issues with cycling. It's a bacteria that only effects caterpillars
