We don't have a very big house but anyone is welcome to stay or drop in for cold beer and bbq if they are floating by. I will warn you, the Missus says I talk a lot... not much of it makes sense though unfortunately :)

Cleaned out the chook enclosure this week, it was let go for a while and was full of weeds, old seed and covered in sticks and leaves from the big trees surrounding it.

It actually scrubbed ok, just need to hose out all the cobwebs, make some roosts and knock up some nest boxes. Also thinking of cementing the floor in the covered section but Im not sure. Oh, and go shopping for chooks, Im thinking Australorps or Isa's.

Had a little visitor pop his head in to check things out while I was taking pics...

That is an impressive chicken run!

I've had a few in my time, my favourite was the pekin bantams. Always silly looking balls of fluff. Or silkies.

Isa browns are great for laying though. I had two, and they would go into shock when I went close to them, they'd stand on the spot and do a little dance. Probably explained how my then puppy labrador caught one so easily, and brought half of it it to me as a present.

Have you made plans for an epic AP system yet?

I look forward to it Charlie, you must upload a sketchup for us to critique, then we can give you lots of advice while you're cycling (don't change anything, let it happen naturally) and I will also explain the nitrogen cycle to you. It is a very important part of aquaponics. Big words I know, but I'm sure you will handle it.

Looks good charlie enough room for chooks, quail and rabbits. Should be leaving SA on Saturday arvo after a stay with friends in the hills. Will let you know our schedule when we know it.

A funny question but you and Mrs Charlie do drink red wine I presume?

And all the fish you can handle too. I am guessing silvers, trout, jades, catfish, bass(not sure), murray cod.
And many odd human visitors :D
