and so it begins.......... finally :D

- 2 x 2000 litre Polymaster Aquaculture tanks

- 4 x 500 litre BYAP Grow beds

- 3 x custom Grow beds (thanks to "The Hopefulls")

- DWC Raft

- RFF, Bio filter + Digestor

Plans:

2 x FT plumbed into a common 90mm pipe (they are 65mm outlets on the bottom of the cone). These will feed into a 200 litre RFF. This will then have a digester off to the side so i can use it for other things (adding to my spraying schedule in my paddocks or a folio spray). The overflow from the RFF will go into a moving bed bio then out via 90mm split out to the GB's controlled via taps and the halo system that comes with the BYAP GB's. The outlets from the grow beds will drop into a DWC trough which i will house the pump and feed back to the FT splitting the line (use it as my sump as well)

I plan to run some good air into the FT, bio and the DWC. Have also built a 12v backup that will keep air to the FT's for at least 12 hrs, then cycle back and charge when power comes back on. As it has a bio, i have the ability to feed it back into the FT and isolate the GB's if i need to, for heat or cold

My fish of choice is Rainbows. I know them well and harvested a ton of them. Have some duckweed, dont know to much about it however doesn't seem like brain surgery :)

I welcome feedback so let the build begin.......

Well, started :) I have the custom beds up - they are about 660 litres in size each. To this, I will add 3 or 4 BYAP beds as well :) Will continue with piping from the FT this weekend

Looks fantastic!

Whats inside the wooden frames? Pond liner? Or a tub of some sort?

I was going to Hijack Bentaz's thread, but I thought I should hunt down your thread first.

You said you shut down your pump when it gets hot for 6-7 hours.

How do the trout go oxygen/ammonia wise with the pump turned off for the day, especially with it being warmer? 200 sounds like a lot of fish, and I'd imagine they would quite large at this stage.

I wants some pictures of it all up and running as well. I'm greedy like that :p

Ive been working in Darwin for just on 5 months, able to come home for 2 weekends only but - im home for good next Friday night :) Ive dealt with power out for 9 hrs one day but my backup lived up to its name and worked like a charm :) The wife has been doing a fantastic job, the only issue i had was I purchased "The Hopefulls" grow beds and as i didnt place wide enough blocks under the steel legs (only wide pavers), 2 of the grow beds dropped a little and scared her as 1/2 the GB thge water was on top of the media (I thought blockage). Thank god for webcam, sorted out quickly :)

I "will" turn of the pump to the FT however i have plenty of aeration via airpump that will stay on. My AMM sits at 0.25 at the most anyways

Pics - I will add a heap more next Saturday, the vegies have been going ballistic, wife cant give enough away. I will link a video tonight about them feeding last week - like Piranah ;)
