I live around T-Town too! I'm setting up a system around Mannford. If ya'll have a get together i'd love to join the group. I'm interested in seeing successful systems since im so new to it. I built a 700 gallon fish tank and 4 4x8 x10 inch deep grow beds.

I'm gathering stuff and I have in mind how I want it to operate but I always love learning from people who have experience. I'm currently in Owasso but we are moving to Mannford and that is where I'm putting the system in. My fish tank is built and is 700 gallon. When I do something I go big! Lol. I hope to have a greenhouse built by this time next year.

I just started learning about aquaponics and am located in Tulsa. I'm a student with limited space and funds so I would be interesting in meeting up with others to see what has worked here and what to avoid.

Thanks All!

New to AP, live in Kansas, by just about 12 blocks from OK, so I'm prolly closer to Tulsa than I am to the other folks in the Kansas thread.

What kind of fish are you guys using??

Just got the pluming all to work, siphon took a few days, need to add media.... Then what, fish?? How long after introducing fish until I start growing stuff??

Will I be able to get any fish to reproduce in just a 250 gallon FT??

Built an ibc system, got the plumbing all working, ran for a day or two w/o any media or fish just to see if it was working well and it did fine. Then I got really busy w/ work and neglected it, leaving a couple inches of water in the growbead and a foot or so of water in the tank. I went out tonight to resume progress and found a rust like film covering the bottom of both the GB and the FT. I used well water, do you think I have an elevated amount of iron causing this??

Hello friends, my name is William Yip in the Tulsa Oklahoma area. I'm currently looking for other aquaponics systems that have been built and are currently producing year round in greenhouse or other controlled environment systems. I am working on a business plan for a commercial aquaponics Contracting Company to build sustainable food supplies and/or ornamentals. Due to limited funding and experience in the industry I seek to find guidance to whomever will donate their influence an opinion and guidance to my cause. In due time I will start aquaponics Tulsa division where we build systems for local communities and communities abroad alike. I seek this business opportunity in order to gain financial independence and moreover, to fill a void in my life in pursuit of humanitarian fulfillment. In my philosophy, the holy grail of entrepreneurship is to leave your mark on humanity in the most positive sense. Our research and time will not be in vain for we see the future and prosperity in aquaponics. Feel free to contact me anytime regarding chances to research, learn, and grow. My email is Willyip93@gmail.com
