Both Tradelink and Reece in the Caboolture/Morayfield area are the same. Went reece once for a couple of fittings and after being told they would cost $96 I went to Masters and got the lot for just over $17. They only want trade customers they say so.

Perhaps a WaveMaker pump to convert some of that fat into meat. Or perhaps a larger tank, heh, heh, heh. But then you would stock more fish, then they would be fed more, then...

Enjoy that red.

Defiantly under stocked my friend. The new fingerlings are going well coming to the surface when ever I lift the lid. Hungry little buggers but want as much on them as possible before the water temperature drops.

Will give you a call early next week and drop up to see you. Cheers

Hi Martin property 55 jade, 25 silver perch and 1 eel tail catfish in the main tank. In the RFS I have 58 jade 50mm fingerlings in one tank and 13 jades from the main tank in the second IBC of the RFS. They range from about 450 grams to 670 grams.

Will pull a few more of the big ones over to the RFS later. Hope it will make them easier to catch when we need a feed

Back home after 5880 klm over to Adelaide ,Victoria and up through NSW.

A big thank you to Blind Freddie for looking after the two systems , the chooks and gardens.

The aquaponic system has grown well with all the seedlings planted before I left ready for picking. Will take a couple of photos tomorrow and post. The fish are hitting the food hard and fast which is good to see.

Ph in both systems sitting on 6.4 thanks to BF. Salt still sitting on about 2.5 PPT in both systems. Will do a full check again tomorrow id I do the water swap.

The RAS looks good although I could be doing a partial water swap on the weekend. Nitrites and nitrates a bit high. The Jade fingerlings have put on weight and look to be twice the size. Started feeding them number 4 pellets today as I had used the last of the number 2 pellets. They hit them hard and all finished, expect only another month before the water starts to get to cold for the heavy feeding and they slow down for winter. The 15 Jades I moved over from the big tank have decided to eat after 6 weeks of sulking. Taking a bit but only in the evenings. Hope they start eating more over the next month to see them through winter. Cheers

Ok went and changed some water from my RAS over with my main System. Did some test and both system sitting on PH 6.4. The RAS had high nitrite and nitrate. The main system had virtually no ammonia, nitrite and the usual high nitrate.

As we are on tank water and expect no rain for at lest 10 months I can not afford to waste water. Both systems are salted to 2.5 ppt and I will bring that up to 3 ppt this afternoon after the system as been running for a while.

Transferred about 500 litres by filling the main tank full and shutting the outlet valve. Turned the pump of and ran the air in the main system. Transferred by running the RAS water to the main sump system and pumping from the main tank by transfer pump into the RAS. I then ran both systems with the main system on continuous pumping for a few hours. Checking the levels in the RAS I then added about 100 litres of tank water to this system. Will recheck all readings tomorrow.

The only down side was I must have knocked one of the fingerlings while I was sweeping the bottom of their tank. He became chook food which is a shame as they had doubled in size in the last three weeks.

Fingerling death 20 grams and 100 mm.

Yes charlie will be doing that. Main thing I found was the amount of crap when I swept the bottom. Steve said he did it last week and there was not much. Will have to do the modifications to the bio so it can be used as a trickle filter to clean. Will check and most likely do another water swap midweek.
