The rain is certainly coming down today, tanks over flowing, ground saturated and the creek is flowing. Will be good to see the creek flushed out after no flow for over 9 months.

Have been noticing a large build up of crap in my sumps, think this is due to the number of times I have been working on the system and had shut it down. Took this opportunity while we have heavy rain and full tanks to flush both sumps out. So after one hour in this rain even with wet weather gear I was soaked. Both sumps empty and clean the hose is now in adding good rain water.

Only problem is I have to go down in 45 minutes and check the level and maybe reset the timer if they are not full.

We had a new member join the other day from the Glasshouse Township Kyi by name. Invited him up for a look at my system as he has just built a basic IBC system to learn from. Nice to meet and talk to you Kyi and as I said you will find all the information you want here just ask the questions.

Now to sit back warm and dry until I have to venture out again. Cheers

Howdy Bear, i have now seen Rob's vid. it looks great, as i am more interested in the fish side of the hobby than the veggi side. although i know its not a bad draw back. i am now eating more veggi's than i ever had before. further searching on the web has revealled more systems to look at for hours and hours. i would love to have you over to take look at my system, however due to the state of my house at the moment (house fire damage) i would suggest its too soon for visitors. but i hope you get the chance to kick back and experience our beautiful state and visit some of our other AP systems.

Why some businesses SUCK BIG TIME.

Been looking at doing some modifications to mt RAS. This involves 5 mm (2") pressure Pvc, had a list of prices for the fittings I required from my local co op and while I was down Caboolture way (large shopping area/district) I called into Tradelink Plumbing supplies.

What a difference in price, it was hard to believe.

Local co op Fittings $111.70 and 1 length pipe $31.50

From Tradelink. Fittings $345.03 and 1 length pipe $71.62

I know where I bought but were is the justification for the price difference when both were cash walk in off the street.

It certainly pays to have your prices before you buy, I had checked several places but there was never this big difference.

I was silly enough to get some pressure pipe and fittings from Reece in Kedron without checking the price first. What a ripoff. About twice the price at Bunnings. Traders must be getting substantial discounts.

Wow, 50mm aint cheap... We sell a length of 40mm pressure pipe for $15.50, wonder what tradelink would charge?
