Ehh... yes. That is what businesses do in order to fund their activities. What is more is that they charge their clients more than what it costs them so that they can make a profit. That is kind of the idea anyway.

Quite simply. Both fires and power outages are events that you can predict are going to happen sooner or later. In Australia in rural areas our power supply is not very reliable and you can reliably predict that sooner or later you are going to be impacted by a fire even if it is only to take out you power supply.

Ummm, if you are in business you do pass on your insurance costs to the client. that is a fixed cost.
That's how business works.
Otherwise you go bankrupt.

Of course the cost goes up when TM has fish losses.
Why would anyone sell their product for below their cost price?
Fish deaths means higher fish price to cover the investment made.

Accidents happen.

Why Trout man does not have an insurance to pay for fish losses then?
....instead of passing the cost of loss down to the clients!
Insurance policy would not cover if the losses are due to your negligence/incompetence!...of course... and act of GOD!
The biosecurity plan of a fish farm will assume the farm manager is responsible for this.

After all fish husbandry practice will be reflected on the health/survival of the stock, death is just one of the results.
Gavin this is nothing personal, surely you have learned a lesson and possibly others might realise the importance of a good back up plan/system.
Thank you for sharing your experience with others.....hopefully they will adopt a better practice and will take responsibility in the future.

Gavin, I am sorry to hear about your losses. Do not concern yourself with the words of an individual. I would dare to say that most of us have dealt with you in person enough to know of your reasons for sharing your decision to raise the price of your remaining stock.
