Is it leaking onto the ground, or back into the fishtank?

Sounds like a leak by the ball valve? If you want to keep the valve operational to drain the tank someday I would get a cam-lock cap to seal it that would come off easily when needed. If that's the problem of course. If it is something different please post pics.

If you want to keep the valve operational you could put on one of these caps. If not you could silicone it on the inside to seal it forever.

Hi just a picture of leaking valve .I tried putting on the cap ,still water came through. The grey shadow shows the water running from the bottom of the valve.

Ok thanks for the pics. Not the valve I was thinking of. Looks like a gate and not a ball. I would remove all of the foil seal stuck to the edge and put some silicone on the threads of the cap and screw it back on if it was me. Make sure all of the surfaces are dry before you seal it. Open the valve to let the silicone dry on the inside and then close it before you put the water back in the tank. Stay tuned because somebody may have a better idea than mine. I like what you've done with your setup so far. Very cool!

Can you take a picture of the side of the valve please? I would like to see if the cam-lock will work before you purchase one. Thanks

I had the same problem - just bought a screw on cap to cap the valve outlet and problem fixed. Also made me more comfortable from a kid proofing viewpoint.
