Tim, it is a tradition to take young people out on a 'snipe hunt' at nite in the woods. You tell them to hit the ground with a stick and when you flush a snipe, catch it in the bag. Snipe are fictitous creatures, but the 'snipe hunt is always a lot of fun.

Are drop bears real? I was guessing they were not.

Nah, drop bears are very much real. You never stand still for too long in a wooded or large canopy area. Hats help. They are most common at night, when there is no moon.

Tim you are heroic to live with such danger! Certainly not a Snipe; more like a boogie man or the Tasmanian Devil Bugs Bunny has to deal with. I found more about these horrible beasts here http://www.geocities.com/muirnin/db.htm
I am glad I live in such a safe place as Clarkston, Michigan!

I'm trying to picture a "ute". Could someone take a picture of one and post it for me? A picture us worth a thousand words.
I'm guessing it is what we call a "pickup truck" (also known as "pickup" or "truck") But it could be some sort of station wagon on steroids -- known here as a SUV (Sport Utility Vehicle) Or maybe an ATV with a box (ATV = All Terrain Vehicle also known as a 4-wheeler) Whatever it is, I need a "ute" to haul gravel to my greenhouse in proper Aussie.
