If and when I lose some tilapia/goldfish, I'll try a few fish pops for our pooch. Probably not a good breath mint.

Now if you have an over abundance of small tilapia fry/fingerlings (especially about pumpkin seed size) chickens LOVE those as treats netted fresh from the tank and thrown to them to flop about all shiny and moving and unable to escape.

We had chickens when the kids where young. Enjoyed the flock, fresh eggs, the occasional *butterflies* fight, but had a problem with rats and the feed, so they had to go. Thought about a few goats, but don't really want to milk anything. I'm afraid the Mrs. would get attached and then I just have more mouths to feed. We have a pretty good market for goat meat. The islanders & mid-easterners love them. A friend used to sell them for $150.00 field dressed. He said they required very little care and made a few grand a month on them at one time.

We are not likely to milk goats so I've been keeping my eyes open for listings for Kiko goats to keep as meat goats since I understand they are hearty and fairly good at breeding and raising their kids with minimal intervention from us humans.

Biggest issue with chickens and rats is when you leave food down or feed them scraps late in the day that they don't finish before dark. It would actually be best to feed them at dawn and only feed them as much as they will eat before dusk.

He is Here!

I did take a bath/shower Tuesday but it was rough since I was having contractions all day.
The worst part was really that I'd already been unable to get any rest for about 24 hours + before the "medical" establishment figures "active labor" is started and they don't want you there before active labor starts but it seems with many women, it is actually difficult to "let" active labor start before you are actually settled into the place where the event will happen.

Anyway, it was a long Labor. And this bub turned out to be bigger than we all expected, weighed in at 8lb 14.5oz
That is a pound bigger than the OB expected.
And on his way out he spun the opposite way than the OB expected while trying to get his shoulder out and I now have some relatively extensive repairs to go along with a really big beautiful Boy.

Ouch to the repairs but congratulations for a new son.

Same happened to my wife with our first. The others have been easier so far :thumbright:
