Last September after hearing a discussion on 720's Saturday gardening programme - the beloved and I embarked on our first foray into aquaponics.

The tanks arrived
the seeds were sown.
The FT is 1500 litres with two GB filled with expanded clay.
We started with 10 silver perch, bought as fingerlings and added 3 more batches of 10 and 2 individuals that were a little more advanced. (Maybe 3 inches long).
We lost two of the fingerlings in one batch but otherwise have had no fish issues - eating and growing well.
Despite regular top ups of seasol and power feed, The long hot summer took a toll on the veggies and they struggled
Luckily, the combination of the new shade canopy and a maturing system has resulted in regular crops of leafy greens .

Thanks to all who have posted over the years - we have benefited from your collective wisdom and hopefully made a few less mistakes than we otherwise would have.
