Howdy all!
Like Egg Chen says, it always starts small....
This is the stand that my 9yo son and I built. It's not completely done yet.

This is the 20gal tub. The rubber grommet on the stand pipe leaks, so going to order a proper seal. Just tried the bell siphon out in the sink and IT WORKS!!!!

Here's the pump setup

Denizens of the deep. I have a nice bunch of koi in a backyard pond but as it is frozen these little guys will be doing some of the initial cycling of this tank.

So, the kid isn't great at staining yet... years from now I will look fondly at all those drips.
Much bigger plans coming for spring including an IBC sump system or two for outside here and then building some beds for my father's perpetually filthy decked in koi pond.

If the leaks are over the fish tank, I would not let them worry you so much. Those of us with large outdoor systems just use the leaks to water the plants that are around our system. I planted nasturtiums around to help attract beneficial insects. In my indoor system, I just made sure that the drips all dripped back into the system.

Well, there is a thin LED hood on the tank that I like. I don't want to have it dripping all the time if I can avoid it. But we shall see I guess.

Another thing about drips is that they can run along farther than you might want due to surface tension, so it's best to at least keep an eye on them.
