Nicely done. Thank you for posting these updates. There seems to be an increasing amount of videos on YouTube regarding RMH's, but rarely do I see any pellet burners. You are a... scientific pioneer, and I'll say again, a mechanical genius. Thank you again. Keep it up.

Are you human?: Some times I wonder

Zerofossilfuel a guy on ustream did the same thing in his rocket stove but he used welding rod to make his basketand it raised the temp he could get to over 800 on top of his barrel. He had previously only been able to get 720 I think. It heats up his workshop lab a bit better. He also figured out how to use pellets in his RMH.

I also wonder if it would be better to just use a piece of schedule 40 pipe for the inside part of the barrel piece. Even the stainless looked like it is burning up too fast.

I've been looking for a section of 6" cast iron pipe but it's not used much any more. I'm probably going to rebuild it with fire brick and be done with it.

I've seen Zerofossilfuel's video. I did a basket like that last year and it burned out too quickly. One of the main problems I ran into was that the rod keeps getting smaller, making the gaps wider so all the pellets start to fall out of it. With the SS grate, at least it lasts a bit longer and I can replace the slats when necessary....even though the frame is wearing out faster than the slats!

Do you have Freecycle or some sort of Habitat for Humanity Re-store kind of place to check for the old types of building materials?

Try Homesteading Today website and post a request. Maybe someone will have one lying around.

We're nearing the end of the heating season and I had to rebuild the heat riser. The stainless steel made it through about 1000 hours before it just fell apart.

I'm amazed wondering where Rob finds all his time for work and all his farm projects and then to film, edit, narrate and post all his videos. As well as doing other projects like developing software.

Thanks for sharing all you learn!

Thanks. Someone actually asked me that the other day and I explained that I don't sit around on the weekends watching football or NASCAR. Getting away from the TV frees up huge amount of time!

A quick video about our beets in the aquaponic system. I have never cared for the flavor and growing them in the AP system, I still don't!

Nice comparison, store bought strawberries are almost consumer fraud when you look at "real" ones.
