That depends on what you are talking about... Everyone likes to pass the buck.. Hosting people say it's not their problem and you can't even pay them to fix things..

Then there's the specific phpbb guy, he does phpbb programming changes and forum updates but won't touch the server/database... Then there's a few people I've had looking at the server as paid contractors, and then the wordpress contractors who do things related to the rest of the site/s, in wordpress.

Everyone seems to have their own little area of expertise and they don't like to move outside of it.. Most of our problems in the past have generally been related to hosting and server set up, problems relating to the database like this recent one, are not as common, I think it's only really happened perhaps twice now.

I'm not on the payroll. I'm happy to give back to the forum for all the information it has given me as well as the opportunity to meet some really great people.

It was a simple fix with the answer given in the error message.

Yes but the search function is still not working.

It is bringing up results but I've just spent an hour looking for a thread I new existed and the search function couldn't find it.

Thinking that I had remembered the gist but not specific words I new a number of members had posted in the thread so I searched by authors name. Apparently SolTun hasn't posted anything ever.

Then again now he has.

Eventually found the thread manually and if I try and get the SE to bring it up it cant find it.

More information needed Stuart - what words did you use to search and what is the thread/post you were looking for?

The thread I was after was this one:

One of the words was "research"

Thread was posted 21st feb in the search results there are no results between feb 11 and feb 25.

I just happen to notice it on this one because I reread it multiple times without any "new" posts added to it
