I know the feeling. I've got a car I'm meant to be restoring, but all my money and time has been going into AP. I'm figuring out if I should buy a full rubber kit, or build another 4 GB's...

I'm probably going to go the GB's :D

Concrete will probably be the best idea to be honest. I'm just not looking forward to digging out the hole. Moving the GB isn't an easy task.

Won't be easy, but beats picking up the pieces after it implodes.

That was quick! I like the get 'er dun attitude buddy, respect :]

If it is still raining put all the weight you can manage and put it on top of the footing, see if it will sink any further. Good way to test it before committing the AP to it.

If i see a good suggestion I go for it!

It's galvanised steel, so should resist rusting, but can't hurt.

I don't want to come home again to a thousand litres on the ground, so made sense to do it asap. Hopefully it wont happen again!

I actually found a dead one this morning. Seems like one of it's friends took a chunk out of it. Was missing part off it's belly, didn't look like natural causes. But it's the first one since a few weeks after I put them in, so I'm not too worried.

They are eating the pellets happily enough, still have some blood worms, so I keep on giving them treats. And they are getting bigger, some at different rates. I've got a bigger one that keeps an eye on all the others.

I also bought some freeze dried blood worms, they didn't seem keen on them. Gold fish go nuts for them though. Although, the goldies will eat anything happily.

I'm not an important person at all! The only thing I know is that i know nothing at all, as Socrates put it.

Seem's a good idea to give it a test before you commit to it though, a lesson learned that I have learned the hard way :[

Still an annoying leak.

It managed to drain out 300L overnight. It'd been going through a stack of water, and I found a underwater epoxy paste, one that can be used underwater. I thought it'd be perfect.

I pulled off all the sikaflex from around the pipe going to the filter, wedged the stuff in between, sealed up any potential gaps, went to town with the stuff. I don't see how water could be getting through.

And I woke up this morning with an empty sump, with no visible water anywhere. Quite frustrating.

I've turned off the pump while I'm at work (it ran the sump dry while I slept, so at work would run it dry again). I didn't feed the fishies, and hopefully I can see where water is being lost from. See if the filters are loosing water, return pipe, main tank, or sump.

Out of frustration, I got some quotes for proper bottom draining aquaculture tanks, 2000L ones go for $1500. But it'd take a lot of fruit & veg to make up the difference.

It's going through 10 - 15L per hour atm. I think there might be a leak at the bottom, I gave the floor a brush to give it a clean, and the water use went through the roof.

The amount of water in the sump won't last overnight/while I'm at work. So I've shut down the system, I'll give it a few hours while I'm home to clear out any gunk, and I've stopped feeding.

I've ordered myself a new pond liner. Another $100 worth of plastic :(

I shall lime the earth beneath, keep the grape vine at bay, put something soft and cheap (carpet offcuts, insulation batts) over the ground to stop any more damage. And stretch the plastic tight so the fish can't find hiding spots inbetween the overlapping plastic.

It's just going to be an annoying job catching 45 murray cod. And I'll see how they get along with the goldfish in the sump.

Well it'd probably be impressive roots if they could get through concrete, I'm just not sure if the $50 of concrete will be worth it...

The carpet offcuts are a really good way of protecting your liner,i have used this method myself in the past.

Where is a good place to get it from (cheaply)? Gumtree doesn't have much. :(
