Hi all.

I'm having some issues with my tomatoes in DWC.

They seem to move around with the wind, and when they are tied up, they rub, and the bases of the plants seem to wear away:

The plant seems to get bigger, and it starts to flop over, so I string it up, and then they just seem to die after a little while. But I think the wind is rubbing the base to nothing, which seems to kill the plant. I've tried stringing the string under the pot so it doesn't swing the plant around, but doesn't see to stop it.

Any solutions?

Looks like your media is very sharp. maybe try a small amount of expanded clay?

I only just put the rocks in there, hopefully to stop the plant moving around.

It's in Vermiculite.

you want to use a finer gravel... and maybe tension the string more to prevent them to sway.. also wrap the string around the tomato stem to reinforce the plants. cheers
