?......... I want to apply both plant bed systems with the 3" pvc pipe system. Can it be done? I have seen many videos and they talk about having a timer with the pvc system. I would rather not do that if at all possible. My space is roughly 8ft x6ft with a 6 ft ceiling. I am just wanting to make use of all the space I can.
Thank you for your support.

Hi.

So you want to use NFT pipes after a media bed? If that is your question it will work ok but it would be better to add a clarifier in between to filter out finer particles.

I have a 4inch tube setup on one system that uses water from the sump that has been filtered by the growbeds and it seems to work fine. It is on full time pumping

Thanks all. What i was going to do is have a pump in 1-2 50 galllon drums, pump the water into the 3"pipe that cascades down in a circular motion. The pipe will have openings on top for the plants in containers. The pipes will drain into the pllant beds, which will go back into the fish tank. I have seen people put a mesh pad that looks like the green scrubbies to catch sediment before the water goes into the bed. That way i could use the best of both worlds and increase my space for growing plants. I hope that makes sense. It is my first time trying this kind of system. I have been looking at many videos from youtube and wanted to try this. My other option is to make it two separate systems also. I thank you for your advice and input.
