Im not in NZed :) but always keen to greet a fellow kiwi. Kia Ora, chur.

Ive done a bit of research on Aquaponics in NZ, as far as I know its hard to keep fish (trout) in bulk without permits from DOC. Even then you have to source the fingelings which again is a red tape subject. Nothing wrong with raising ornamentals except for the fact that us kiwis love our kaimoana and im sure little goldy wont suffice.

Speak up kiwis :) would love to also hear from those in NZ taking this fascination on.

Yep, as above..... A few people have given it a bash, but difficult with fish species there..

Im in NZ. I've got the materials together to build a blue barrel system. Im planning on trying out freshwater crayfish. There are heaps in the streams here and they taste pretty good. I think they will be possible to keep over winter here in auckland but the water will probably get too warm over summer.
