AM, wouldn't it be quicker and easier to remove it from the hole and get it back into shape 1st rather than dig out the dirt insitu??

Also get water into it quickly after so that if it does rain, it won't be "popped" like mine did

if you did want to straighten it out THIS is the way i would do it, and possible the only way that it would work.

remove the IBC :shock:

fill it with hot water.
the water pressure and the heat will push it back out and the heat will re form it.

let the water cool.

.....and use the roofing sheets to keep the sides from collapsing back and applying pressure to the IBC again

I was thinking along similar lines - get the tank out, put it on flat tar/road, fill with water and hope for the best ;)
If it rips, tears or just goes south I will give them the inside of my spare tank (it should fit into the other cage (better measure up tomorrow :shock:

I have dug out one side, and will get the students to do the rest this week.

guess you could always junk it and use it as a 1000L rain water collection tank to top up the tanks

we dug out 3 of the 4 sides and the tank slowly regained almost 200L worth of capacity... but as the students were SO slow in deciding what to do re. pulling in out or not, I have gone ahead and put the roofing sheets in and filled in bedind them, so the decision has been made (their slowness is holding up all of the projects as we cant order barra untill they finish their tank!)...
Now I an putting some protective strips over the cut edges of the roofing sheets (there will be kids about after all) then the tank will be ready :)

okay, some input here please - students need to purchas a pump which will run 24/7... the head will be about 1 to one and a half meters above water level, and it will feed about 6 or 7 half blue barrels as grow beds...
what size pump should they get (LPH, LPM???)

I only pictured no more than 1m... but the students were unable to give a definate idea and their ideas swayed from 1m above to just on 1.5m above water level.
