Nice grow beds, did you get them from Practical Plastic?

Yes I did but I have some new ones that I'm about to install now from terra cop they are square in shape and don't have any internal struts to create potential dead ares.

Here are a few pics long time between posts but hey technologies is making it easier. The tomato is getting hammered by caterpillars would of been a lovely huge plant but it's surprising to see it growing through our wet season.

I had 30 fish but managed to kill most of them down to 7 now with some of them getting to over 500ml I reckon almost legal length.

As long as they are not to big for the pan mate, photos of your new GB would be appreciated. Did you buy them local or interstate?

Mangrove Jack or the snapper fresh from the water. Chainsaw raised barra down here over the last coupoe of years. Tasted good when you have not had one for a while.

Well Darwin just had a little power incident with the entire city being blacked out for over 12 hours thankfully the battery back up aireartor performed brilliantly and all fish survived without any casualties.
Just goes to show you never know what's around the corner and you need to have your back up systems in place.

Are you human?: Sometimes...

Lucky you, that was a big black out. Problem was I had to work during that time and it was 7 hours before I could get the generator going at my place. Some of the Barra were already trying to get out of the water to get oxygen, but no obvious dead ones... Time will tell.

Can't go past this I reckon
Get them from Age of Aquariums
Resun ACD 8800 AC/DC
Twin outlets
Output: 5 litres pr minute
10 watts
240 volt
DC working time : 10 hours
Dimensions ( 180mm x 170mm x 78mm )
Battery is charged when switched on to ac power supply
Automatically changes to DC power when AC power is off

$ 89.00

Good to hear all your fish made it that was one mother of a blackout for a capital city to have no power any where for a 300klm radius for over 12 hours and up to 18 hours in some places is bizarre to say the least.

Hi there Up North , we are looking at starting our own system up here in Howard Springs , good to see other interested in Aquaponics. Just got back from Perth where we visited Sue and got some great advice as well as a good look at the sytems they offer. We are looking at something along the lines of Sues Family system 4 x growbeds and 2 ponds. Spoke to the guys at Practical when we recently purchased 2 x 36000 litre tanks and they are keen to help as well. Anyway PM me if you wish to catch up and chat further.
