Just showing the area and a couple of the tanks I intend to use.
This is my front yard where I intend to build my system.
I will be posting progress pictures as I build it.
Hope you enjoy!

As you can see, I have plenty of space to start and grow the system as I grow with it.

At the point of the last picture it may have taken me about 2 hrs, but the sand stones are making me work at it.
The hole almost finished now but I am too busy running my business to keep at it.

I love how this is your "Front" yard...

Also, this might be the time you want to consider:
insulation, heating/cooling tubes, visual leaking check tube thingy...

Already taking that stuff into account CJ, for heating and cooling I will be using a wood boiler and running the lines throughout the bottom of the ST and FT so it will be radiant heating/cooling, I will be also adding a float valve to keep the levels right.
I don't think leaking will be much problem either.
Thanks for the comment.

I might just rent a bobcat if I have to dig in my yard it is all heavy red clay about 3 inches down from the top. Could give up on aquaponics and live off the pottery I could make after digging the hole.

What size are the grow bed and fish tank? Tank looks like it could be 500 gal or more.

The ST is about 650 gallons and the FT is about 1,000 gallons.
The grow beds I'm starting with are 2'x1'x8'
Good luck with the pottery!

A better close up of the drain hole being positioned to the trench for pumping the water to the fish tank.
