Sure, that would be nice. But they don't give us any choice here. It is corn. GMO, pesticide, and synthetic fertilizer laden.

Did my usual end of month maintenance last week and ran the emergency generator for a couple of hours. At the end of the day when the gen set was cooled I refilled the tank. Next day their was a distinct smell of petrol, this continued over a couple of days. Had a quick look and the petrol tank was down which was a sure sign of a leak.

Had a quick look an it appeared that the fuel line was leaking. Purchased some fuel line down town and came back and took the fuel tank off, sure enough both ends of the fuel line was leaking. Replaced with new line and problem solved.

The generator was 14 months old and a Masters own brand, 909 750 watt and cost $50 on special. Saved my butt last year but just want to WARN every one who has bought these cheap generators that the fuel line is just rubber hose and not suitable for petrol. I replaced mine with reinforced fuel line so hope this will last for many years now

I have one of those sets sitting in the shed ready for extended power outages. Thanks for the tip bear!

Checked the system on Saturday morning and found a floater, this is only my second one but he was ready for the oven. Had what appeared to be scale damage and lesions to the head.

Checked salt level and it was at 2.5 ppt, added another 3 kg to bring the system up to just over 3 ppt. Ammonia had spiked to 8 but bottom of tank and sumps are clean of all organic matter. So no apparent reason for the spike. Stopped feeding and running pump and air 24/7 at the moment.

Other fish are happy swimming around and tank is clean and clear. Will do full testing again this morning. Working on getting my RFS back up and running and will transfer water over and then top up both systems. At the moment water is to precious just to drop to ground and to buy that amount up here, well I do not have the money for that.

This one could have been damaged when the were moved to the RFS a couple of weeks ago. They were only in that system for 3 days and then moved back. Will give a update on levels this afternoon.

8 is a big amm spike, Bear. Like you say, moving them around probably increased stress levels and pushed amm.

yes mate shot you an email already, the price is $150. per 100 fingerlings, either jades or Silvers. Which would you prefer, perhaps a few of each. As soon as I know I'll give him a call to organise.

I'm in for a huge week end this week (hiring machine to dig trench for shed power supply) but can get down there to pick them up no worries.

No charlie thank you I have just transferred water to the RFS and topped up the main system. Took 1500 litres which is about a third of the water in the main system. Will check all paramounts tomorrow. Have been adjusting ph in both systems today.

Picking up 100 jade fingerlings on sunday morning for the RFS going in a buy with BF. Hope the modifications will improve the new system. Will have to start a new thread when it is running ok many mistakes and lessons learnt.

When are you heading over mate? Cheers

Great news mate, Id say you were spot on with the transfer stress.

Looking forward to your RFS thread, sounds like a fun project and adds another dimension to your fish farming production.

In regards to moving, the sea container arrived about 1 hour ago so we will be busy packing our belongings into that over the next few days. The family fly out next week and Ill be staying behind for a little while to finish up work etc. Wont be too long mate and Ill be a fair dinkum eastern stater! Finally Ill be able to source a bunch more varieties of fish!

Got a family member that has a natural river running through his property that has catfish, eels and redclaw so Ill be checking that out too.
